Joe Manor

For this Season we wish to congratulate Joe Manor as

Match Game Bowler of the Year.

Joe amassed 91 points to Jason Rasinske’s 75 point and Mike Bradfield’s 78.

A bowler gets points for qualifying positions and matches won. We would like to congratulate Joe on his title wins.

and

Winner of the Capital City Match Game Championship

The 41st annual Capital City Match Game was held at Pro Bowl in Lansing December 5 & 6 with 62 eager entrants. Scoring was at a fevered pitch with five 300 games & four 800 series recorded during the eight game qualifying round. Charlton Chambers was high qualifier with a pinfall of 2037 and averaging 254 to come back on Sunday.

Sunday’s bowling started out with great shooting again with two more 300’s. The 10 game head-to-head finalists crashed pins to get to one of the 4 person stepladder finalists. After 18 games bowled the 4 person final stepladder went like this:

Mike Bradfield lost to Terry Haines 247 to 268. Match #2 had Joe Manor beating Terry Haines 215 to 181 and set up the finals of Joe and 1st seed Paul Kwiecien. This was a great match where Manor was able to pull this win and title out over Paul Kwiecien 247 to 241.

Team Tournament

Add it up. 120 bowlers making 24 teams, bowling 480 games, with a nice payout and great competition, sounds like a plus in area bowling.  The 5th annual Michigan Team Tournament was held at Royal Scot January 3rd to both competitors and spectators alike.
